We strive to provide an environment that fosters positive role models for our Indigenous students and offers opportunities to cultivate Indigenous-inspired leadership. Our organization is dedicated to creating a positive public image for Indigenous people and enhancing cultural sensitivity and awareness within the broader community. As Indigenous student leaders, we advocate for the needs and interests of our students attending Sault College. We actively facilitate cultural engagement opportunities and work closely with our Elders-in-Residence ensuring that traditional knowledge and practices are integrated into student life. We play a crucial role in promoting positive systemic change towards truth and reconciliation by ensuring that student voices are integral to all organizational activities. The Indigenous Students’ Union also fosters collaborative relationships with both internal College departments and external organizations to promote and engage in intercultural awareness sharing and cultural competency learning opportunities for the wider College community. Additionally, we support one another within the provincial system by collaborating with other Indigenous Students’ Unions in the area, strengthening our collective impact and fostering a network of mutual support and advocacy.

Study-time or down-time, Enji Maawnjiding is a multi-purpose Centre like no other!
