Election time is here! The Sault College Students' Union (SCSU) has multiple positions to fill, and we are searching for students who are passionate about school governance and dedicated to making a difference. These roles are vital to ensuring the voices of our student body are heard and represented. We need individuals who are committed to serving, guiding, and supporting their fellow students. Before applying, take the time to carefully read the position descriptions and understand the responsibilities involved. This is your chance to lead, inspire, and make a meaningful impact on campus!

February 6th: MANDATORY All Candidates Meeting in the SCSU Office (F1200) at 4:45pm
February 6th: Campaign Period Begins Immediately Following the All Candidates Meeting
March 6th: Campaign Period Ends at 4:30pm
March 7th: Election Day- Voting open on Student Portal from 12:00am-11:59pm

How to Complete the Nomination Period
Please reference the full election policy below. If you have any questions please email [email protected]. It is your responsibility to familiarize and abide by deadlines and policies.
Step 1Familiarize yourself with all positions and election documents.

Step 2Fill out the Nomination Candidate Information Form.

Step 3Wait one business day for the signature link to be sent to your student email.
|
Step 4Use link to collect signatures from students for your position.
|
Step 5Once the appropriate number of signatures are collected, you have completed your nomination!

Once you've completed your nomination process you will be contacted of what the next steps are.

Election Campaign
There is currently an Election Campaign for the Board of Governor Student Rep Position. There are two candidates running for this position. Voting will take place on the Student Portal from 12:00am-11:59pm on March 7, 2025. The candidates are listed below.
Gwen Steffani Alguno Digital Film Production "I have always obliged to be the voice of my fellow students, because as a student myself I know what it feels like not to be seen and heard and I want to fix it by being the instrument of voice in bridging students and admins." Riley Matthew Protection & Security "I have experience not only as 1 year in the student rep position in the past, but also as a rep for Scouts Canada in Southern Ontario. I hope to have the opportunity to return to the Sault College board to make sure that all students voices are heard." |
The Indigenous Student Union (ISU) works with the Indigenous Studies Department and the Sault College Students’ Union (SCSU) to enhance student life on campus by promoting awareness of Indigenous/Metis/Inuit peoples and enhancing a healthy holistic lifestyle taking care of the physical, spiritual, mental and emotional aspects of each and every one of us. The ISU’s primary focus is to develop strong partnerships with other groups within Sault College and our communities.
