SCSU ADVOCACY
Have you ever considered how change comes about?
Before a change is made, there is planning and before planning, comes an understanding of what needs to be put into the action to make a situation better. Advocating is the process of research, promotion, lobbying and direct action to make a change that will better the community as a whole. Being an advocate means standing up for what you believe in, as well as what is best for your community, and lobbying for that belief to become reality.
SCSU advocates on a local, provincial, and federal level for Sault College students. we join with other Student Unions across Canada to make your voice heard. In addition, SCSU organizes local campaigns to support our students.
SCSU Advocacy service was established to provide information and support to students facing challenges at Sault College. We strive to do our absolute best to provide students with information about Sault College policies and procedures when they are in a formal conflict with the College. But we are not lawyers, and do not provide legal advice! Rather, we are here to offer confidential and effective support to any undergraduate and graduate student at Sault College in regard to:
The President is responsible for representing the student voice on all levels of government through advocacy and lobbying efforts. He focusses on working with our provincial lobbying group, students' unions and other advocacy groups, and on fostering relationships with local politicians and community stakeholders to advocate for the needs and interests of students.

GUIDELINES
- We are not lawyers and do not provide legal advice
- We do not present or advocate for students on their behalf, but merely provide assistance
- The SCSU President does not compile or write student appeal documents
- For us to provide the service of highest quality, please give us at least 7 days in advance to the hearing
- Please note that we are number limited, therefore we ask you to remain patient if your email correspondence is delayed
- We cannot guarantee the outcome, but we can ensure you that we are on your side. We’ve got your back!
