Emergency Food Bank Access

The SCSU emergency food bank is available to all students all year long. Whether you have run into financial troubles or just need a boost before your next paycheck. The food bank is strictly confidential, student numbers, and other information are requested for statistics only. More information on other community food banks and long-term financial help is also available. The food bank is located beside the F-wing, Behind Odeno. The SCSU accepts food and financial donations from generous supporters all year long.

FOOD BANK HOURS:
Wednesdays and Fridays
11 am - 2 pm


Please follow the instructions below to access the food bank:

The Food Bank is open on Wednesday and Friday between 11:00 am and 2 pm. And you can access at these times, please note that the food bank closes at 2 pm sharp.
For updates on the food bank operations (open/ close) please follow SCSU on Facebook.
Your Student ID is required to access the Food bank.
You can access the food bank from the building beside food bank- the F-lot parking side.
Once in the building, and after the verification pleases you will proceed into the main food room where you will see posted signs as to up to how many of which items you are welcome to take. 
You can pick up to 10 different items.
The food is donated to us from United Way/ Harvest Algoma as well as many other gracious donors. It is your responsibility to check the expiry date of the items you will receive, for tips about the food consumption click here.

Donors

We could not exist without our wonderful donors. If you wish to make a donation of food, money or clothes for our student there are two ways for your convenience:

FOOD & CLOTHING
Donors can drop them off at the SCSU Food Bank building which is located outside of F-wing to the right (beside the windmill), any time between 11 am and 2 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays

MONETARY DONATIONS
You may send donations through e-transfer to SCSUFundsInTrust@saultcollege.ca. Please note in the message section to direct the donation toward the “Student Food Bank”

Or, by making a Cheque payable to: Sault College Students Union Inc – Memo: Food Bank
(cheque can be mailed to: SCSU 443  Great Northern Road, S.S.M, Ontario, P6B 4J3
